7 Signs Your Vehicle Wrap Was Done Wrong (And What It's Going to Cost You) - Wrap Hub Orlando vehicle wrap guide

Not all vehicle wraps are created equal. The difference between a wrap that looks incredible for 6 years and one that starts peeling in 6 months often comes down to decisions made in the first hours of the install — decisions you cannot see once the job is done.

Here are seven warning signs that a wrap was not installed correctly.

One: visible bubbles or texture beneath the film shortly after install. A small amount of tiny air bubbles immediately after application can work themselves out, but large bubbles or persistent texture after a week are a sign of poor surface prep or wrong film type for the vehicle.

Two: lifting edges within the first few months. Properly installed vinyl should be tucked and heat-treated around every edge, handle, and seam. If edges are already lifting, the installer skipped post-heat treatment or used an adhesive that is not appropriate for the surface.

Three: color inconsistency across panels. This typically means different film batches were used, or panels were cut from different rolls without checking color consistency.

Four: visible seams in prominent locations. Seams are unavoidable on larger vehicles, but a skilled installer places them strategically — in body lines, door jambs, or areas naturally out of the sightline. Seams across the center of a hood or door panel are a craftsmanship problem.

Five: silvering around recessed areas. When vinyl cannot conform properly to complex curves, it silvers — creating a wrinkled, metallic-looking distortion. This is a film selection and technique issue.

Six: no warranty offered. Reputable installers back their work. If a shop cannot tell you what happens if something goes wrong in the first year, take that as a signal.

Seven: the price was suspiciously low. Quality wrap film and skilled labor have a real cost. If the quote was dramatically below the market rate, something was cut — usually material quality or installation time.

If your vehicle was wrapped elsewhere and you are seeing these signs, bring it in. We will assess what is going on and give you an honest assessment of what needs to happen next.
